Spread between 3 days the Bluebonnet mini’s were a success. phew. I have to say I was a little nervous to do Mini’s for a couple different reasons. 1. I wasn’t super sure about only having a limited, short time with the kiddo’s. Sometimes it takes a full 2 hours to get smiles out of them, they can be stingy with those at times.
2. Working with the lighting. See, bluebonnets like full sun, photographers do not. Terrifying actually. So I had to step out of my box and dust off my reflector that I don’t often use and now I’m loving the way the reflected sunlight makes the eyes sparkle. I will be using that trick more often. I love working with natural light, it is the only way to shoot. As you can see, It makes each and every session unique and beautiful in its own way.
I also have to give a shout out my daughter who first let me practice on her and then was my very helpful assistant for all of the shoots. I probably need to give her the credit for most of the big smiles.
XO,
Jodie
